I've been meaning to give RSS a try for at least two years, but I never made the time to learn how. For this lesson, I searched for "best librarian blogs" and added three to my new Google Reader account: The Shifted Librarian (which I've heard a lot about), The Laughing Librarian, and Library Link of the Day. For The Laughing Librarian, I got a message along the lines of "This site does not provide a feed. For Google to create a feed for you click here". I did that and am interested to see how this works.
I think it would be more convenient to have my reader appear when I opened my browser. Perhaps using a browser RSS would do that, but that was not one of the options for the lesson. Maybe I'll give that a try at home and if I like it substitute it for Google Reader at a later date.

Iola Reads logo
The logo for "Iola Reads", our ongoing "One Book, One Community" project. We do two books every year. Currently, we're doing "Three Cups of Tea" by David Mortenson. Partners in Iola Reads are Iola Public Library, Allen County Community College Library, Unified School District 257, and the Bowlus Fine Arts Center.
Platform 9 3/4
OK, so this dates back to 2007. It's still cool. This was the entrance to our "Deathly Hallows Eve" party.
